Medium sized catfish recommendations

You could always go with a lima shovel nose and or a black tip shark the catfish one it cost about $4

Yeah that species but I thought they can survive in fresh if you acclimate them correctly
The are sold in freshwater, so no special acclimation. Yet as they grow they will need to be transitioned to brackish then salt... otherwise, 99.99% suffer death before reaching 6"-10"... 0.01% miserable life then premature death at a few years old.

They are a very hard fish to keep in that regard. What I said MUST be advertised on their tanks, but no one would buy them. They are exceedingly cute and buying them is irresistable, which is used to make $$.

As they grow, they lose the attractive coloration and turn into drab, large sea catfish.

So I really fail to see the point in having them in the trade, barring a very special case, perhaps a handful of people in the world would like to have them for life.
