Cue the James bond theme song....

Anyways. I stopped by my LFS to see if they had anything new and low and behold they were unloading a fresh shipment of fish from "The Wet Spot"

So I waited and helped out a bit and got first look at all the new stuff the owner had picked out. I guess she went on a bit of a Pleco frenzy cause she got 8-10 non-commons. She had two L-200, green Phantoms. Beautiful and I almost got one. She had one L-002 which is the black and white tiger. Good looking specimen and again I almost bought him. Then the last pleco to be pulled out was a beautiful L-007. Commonly know as the Galaxy. The bag was marked with the other name for 007's The "Vampire Pleco".

So I ended up getting the Vampire for my 55 Riparium I'm working on. He is currently hanging out with a pair of my Kribensis till I get the 55 done and cycled. Most 007's I have seen are a dark brown kinda chocolate color. This guy is nearly black with white spots. I hope he stays this dark as he gets older. He will look amazing under the full spectrum plant lights the Riparium will have.

Here he is. 2 quick shots. Not the greatest as he was still hiding at the back of my tank.

He's gorgeous! Keep us updated as to his personality, I'd love to get one if they don't hide 24/7.

He's been hiding pretty much since I got him. I hope he starts being a bit more active. But I just picked him up about this time last night so he's still getting used to things.

It seems to take all Plecs a few wks to adjust. My Royals are my most outgoing Plecs and the times I've moved them to a different tank it even takes them a week or 2 to get their bearings.

Good to know.

I've got two commons in my community tank that never stop moving. they are always foraging and causing trouble.

Vampy is going in the 55 when its done.

I hope to get one other pleco for my big 300 when its done. Looking at an L24-or 25. Liking the 25 more.

lol Yea, commons are the Plec extroverts :-) I don't have a common but I do like them a lot & someday I'm going to dedicate a tank just to a common Plec.
Royals are by far my favorite, a Royal would do great and have plenty of room in your 300g. My Para Plec is real outgoing, they get about 10" max. Bright yellow with black spots, real pretty. I'd like to find another outgoing Plec, it seems everyone says their L14 (Goldies) are. I'm going to look up the L24 & 25's.

Oh yea, theyr'e cool looking. Remind me of my L114 (who I never see either, sigh). I wonder how outgoing they are though?

$60 for an L25? That's a great deal. They're really hard to get since the Brazil ban. According to the website, it does not seem to be out of stock, though I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't updated and it's really out of stock. A planetcatfish forum thread showed someone wanting a $1,000 canadian for a scarlet cactus. Not sure what happened to the pleco. Here's the thread:

The Wet spot breeds quite a few rather rare plecos. One of the things they specialize in.
