Meet Ares

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Gosh, hes a brute. He looks like he can take out a rat--->:Pikachu:

WOW I'M SO EXCITED TODAY, Ares ATE HIS FIRST MEAL~!!!:woot:
It has been 5 days since I added Ares to the 75g and this is the second attempt. The first attempt didn't work as I believe he was in he process of replacing his teeth, no big deal. so today I saw his lips are all full again, the teeth should be all grown back so I drop a piece of smelt (a small one I don't waste the big ones I save for him later) in front of him. At first it didn't pay much attention so I decided to go feed my pygos and by the time they finished with their smelt (less than a minute) I went to check out how Ares was doing and the smelt was gone. man I am so excited :nilly:
ok..sorry about the rant but I have to share :D

I wish that were true...unfortunately thats not, other wise I'd kept my mount shut so piranha won't get ban in NJ :)

However, that gets me thinking. there's a private pond at work that has no access to any other water body and are stocked with bass sunfish and other small baitfish. imagine I set a small serra loose in that pond during summer when it's hot, what kind of grow it'll get in a few months? there's a lot of food available 24/7. water quality won't be an issue at all and thousands of gallon to swim around. I just need to some how fish it out before cold weather hits. :)
but the thought of not able to ever find it again made me chicken out. lol
besides that's probably illegal.

He just had 3 smelts for breakfast..man I should have recorded it.

what you ought to do is buy a couple (six or so) smaller rhoms and let them loose in there. Might breed. Ofcourse they'd die in the winter unless you could heat it or cover it or something.

I'll do that when I get my own indoor pond, hopefully one day. with three large viewing windows :)
