Thanks they are miy wife's pride and joy by far her favorite fish, He seems to be doing better ,fingers are crossed they will breed. We still have 8 babies from the last batch her and our other male had.

I still haven't seen him eat and have tried everythin, beefheart, cichlid delite (which I think is turkey heart), pellets and frozen kirll. It seems that his holes are filliung in so I think he may be alright in that respect , now if I could only get him to eat.

I too once bought a less than perfect shape fish that didnt eat for days. I noticed she looked a little bloated with white stringy feces and had a little cotteny growth on her top fin. I first treated for internal parasites and within 7-10 days she was eating and a hell of a lot more active. after she began eating I treated for fungus and the cottony stuff on her fin disappeared and her fin grew back nicely. good luck, he should eat in time. he may just have to get used to new surroundings and tankmate.
