Man, if I live closer, this tank would seriously be gone. I would dissemble the tank piece by piece, using a round dowel....a dowel rubbed against the silicon will break the silicon off and make it a lot easier for taking the glass panels apart...once 90%+ of the silicon is gone, run a small thin blade through the groove to separate the silicon’s from the glass... once the first piece of glass is out... the rest is history!...
Now with all sides and glass panels free, you can stick in inside a pickup truck and haul it home...if you want the same shape, remember to number the glass panels, if you just want the glass to rebuild a new shape i.e. hexagon, square, etc...You’re practically good to go...
I have reglued a few tanks in my age and have learned it’s a lot easier to just use a dowel first to rub against the silicon rather than using a blade to cut through it....I would say worry about the silicon later just focus on the dissemble part first...and you should in the long run have yourself a nice DIY tank.. My two cents
