I've been taking a page out of Meiling's book and find its not only easy, but also kind of fun to pet the arowana's. 2 of the three seem to like it well, but the third knows whats going on and hangs back usually. The other day, though, I was reaching in with my hand and laying my fingers across the fish when one of the other arowana's jumped about 6 inchs out of the tank to take a bite at the soft part of my forarm about half way between my wrist and my elbow. Not only did it bleed ( a little ) but it left this cool little bite mark on my arm. Everyone I showed it too at work said "what bit you?" These are about 10" inch arowanas, and I think that their teeth are a little sharper when they are younger (like puppys) but even lacking the jaw strength of a larger arowana, since they got the soft white under belly of my arm, it was easy to pierce the skin and leave a cool mark. I wish you all could enjoy this experience. Please TRY this at home. Its fun and funny.

I'm gonna stick my wookie in there and dangle it like a worm! Wonder what THAT will do!!!

I've been bitten by my arowana, but never have they broken the skin. Not a fun thing to do though... why would you want to do that?
