Pimafix is more for fungal infections. I keep Melafix on hand & do not hesitate to use it (even on my discus & puffers) but you should add an airstone if you see any breathing problems. It's the only med I've used for many years.

For the price of a dat versus the giant danios, I wouldnt risk it. I would just lose the danios.
