Ok well this is the largest tank ive had. I originally inherited a 10 goldfish tank when my mom passed. Then they were killed by my 7 year old cuz whom kicked his shoe towards the tank. New tank stessed them out and baam. When i moved into my own apt my grams gave me a 35 gallon. At this time i was working for petco and this started my fish obsession. New to the game i bought random pretty fish. What a mix i had...which i do not sugeest to my customers. African Cichlids, Black shirt tetras, Angels, 6" rafael cat, and gouramis, peacock eel...Now i never lost a fish in this tank from day one of the purchase. Over $40 worth of fish. Then i moved gave a friend my tank. Had a 5 and 10 gallon salt tank did phenomanal. And now i manage 108 tanks and 2 190 gallon salt tanks. But am just learning about these monster fish which I LOVE TO DEATH!!!! but im on a low income budget...so any ideas?

Well, like I said before, it really depends on what your looking for. But, lets see, 90 gallons is a very decent sized tank. You can go with an African Cichlid set up, but being that you say your into monsters now, hummm. Maybe go with some CA/SA cichlids that stay relatively small, nice central american decor would look very good. Buy a back ground for the tank, black is always good. You can go with Salvini's, convicts, JD, GT in there. Be nice, maybe some small cats for fun. Or you can try looking for some Baby Bichirs, I can find senegal and palmer bichirs here in SoCal at about 4" for like 10 bucks per. Just some thoughts.

Yeah I'm still definitly going to do my cichlids. A ray isnt possible is it? I have water and sand in there now and im eventually going to make my decor from styrofoam. I have the magnum 350 pro system on there now. canister with 2 biowheel system and then i have 2 small hang on filters for extra carbon filtration. Long story short HUGE amounts of ammonia from my fellow friend..(the crazy cat) walked in while he was doing his business in the sand...so im on a huge w/c for weeks now few times a week

 thats good stuff. hahahahaha.

As for the Rays, im not all that familiar with them. Not sure on max sizes and all, plus if you say your on a budget, the initial purchase price on rays is pretty steep comparitively speaking.

Yeah, looks good sized. I see you don't have a canopy or cover, is that because you were cleaning it?
