Here is a one month update of my Merlion Ultimate Blood Red that came in my last order. It is about 12 inches. Nic (owner of the farm) told me it was kept in a pond, so it arrived a little bit more skittish than most fish do. It was not used to being in a glass tank with a person looking in once in a while. Below is a video of the fish on arrival under NAN light. Next is a video shot today of the fish under normal white fluorescent shop tube lighting. I've attached some photos too. I think you will all agree this is a really high grade fish. I can only imagine how the fish would look if I did some tanning...??

There was white light and NAN light in this video:

Here is a video of the fish today, only under white light. I will do a NAN light update later:

Beautiful aro and interesting name for it.....merlion.

But all of the fish produced at the farm are in fact influenced by the name Merlion. Merlion refers to a mythical creature made up of many different parts. It is kind of the patron symbol of Singapore (think of Singaporean multiculturalism with all its groups living in harmony). So too, the Merlion Dreamfish are all line bred, but the term Merlion acknowledges that there really are no true F1 fish out there anymore and all really are a mix of others; it just comes down to the degree. The Merlion Dreamfish farm even has one fish called the "Harmony"; being what is also called a Tong Yan, it is the ultimate expression of the philosophy of celebrating diversity and new expression of fusion influence. You can tell I like the farm :) The owner of the farm, Nic, came to visit me in Canada a few years ago.
