Merodontotus tigriuns thread #1

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Now hear this, I saw a Merodontotus for the first time in an LFS where I live.
I reseached the fish and went back to the LFS to check if it was a tigrinus, and indeed it was.
It's 3,5" at the most and they ask 395 Euros for it...
That's like 530 US $...
Now can someone please tell me that's an unreasonable price for a fish this size, with "the chance of small tigs dying for no apparent reason" taken in considaration?
i mean I like the fish, but that's the most money i ever saw asked for a tiny fish...

Sounds unreasonable to me. I picked mine up for $160 at 3". This price also sounded unreasonable to me for the first couple months as I watched the stock in the lfs dwindle. When there were only two left, I decided the price was not as unreasonable as I first thought it was.

Top wish list fish for me, but at 530$ i'd have to sell my wife, my kids and my dog.
I won't do it, i just won't sell my dog to buy a fish!:grinno:

Well guess I am quite lucky that i am still able to get it at a cost still within my pocket.
This fish might cost on the high side in some country. But it really worth keeping them.
Too bad mine didnt make it... anyway I am now keeping flavicans. They are from the same family too. Only thing is they bang on the glass easily and I manage to solve that issue. All the best in keeping them. Happy fish keeping for 2010.

Anybody got any more pics?
Are these all the tigs on mfk?
