Hello everybody I thought I would share with some pictures ... not very good ones since they move so much but ... hey I love that fish - I've been looking for them for a LONG time and now not only got 5 of them but they just laid eggs today = )

Geez!! Looking awesome man!! You know which species or what the collection area is? They almost look like insignis, which is what I have. TONS of blue/green speckles...totally awesome cichlids. I only have one, but plan on getting more, you've pretty much convinced me. How large are yours? Totally awesome. I love how they are so regal and laid back, seriously an awesome cichlid. If you get any fry to live, I'd like to get some please sir!! :D

they are in community tank with 4 other angelfish and there are some algae eaters ... those may be a thread for the fry - but as soon as they will go free-swimming I'm moving the fry to 35gal or maybe even 55gal ( just to play it safe, water won't go bad in 55gal too soon )

The pair that laid eggs are good 4" long and the 3 other ones are about 3 inches long = )

Thats awesome man!!! I'm glad you were able to find you some!! Even better that you were able to get them to breed for you. Mine is about 3 to 4", I'll try to get some pictures of it for you, none as nice as yours though. Just awesome!! I'd definately LOVE to have some of the young!! Keep me updated on them!! It would be an honor to have some of them. Would love to see a group of them just swimming lazily around the tank...love it. BTW...whats your pH? Just curious, would like to get some more and try to breed mine. We could swap some maybe someday!! LOL!
 
yeah - definitely I would be more then happy to do some exchange = )

these are claimed to be F1s - anyhow. My ph jumps ... I'm really concerned about it - I have CO2 tank and don't have the auto on /of I set it to "on" around 2 hours before the lamps go on and to "off" about hour and a half before the lights go off. My ph is from 7 - to sometimes even 6.6 :X

Take care and I will ( hopefully ) post some pics soon if they will have free swimmers - I wish they would've laid eggs on something that I could transfer to other tank ... why did they have to choose the 50 inch long driftwood ? lol

lovely festivums. congrats and good luck on raising the babies. i have a pair that is showing signs of pre-spawning behavior (they are ganging up on the uaru pair and swimming together all the time). :D

yeah really - I'm surprised myself why these aren't that "famous" they are so interesting - they are like ... dogs or IDK they are always so curious they STARE at you and what you're doing really cool = )
