hey miles, these must be some youngsters huh ;)

not that I don't like them but ... they seem a little "skinny" too ( eye seems to me a little to big as for the rest of the body )

It's my "secret" - but hey try it lol - I got a prescription vitamin D3 in liquid form - from time I put as much dry food as the fish will be able to eat in a day or 2days in a fish food cap then soak it with water and add D3 - the fish grow as fast as... pot in Columbia ;) after such a meals

PEACE

Those pics were taken about 20 minutes after they were imported from Peru. They probably hadn't eaten in weeks at that point. They colored up a few days later, and fed greedily on freeze dried foods. I sold some of them to a local fish maintenance business who put them in a 300g display tank in a dentist office. He said they got huge, like the size of a hand, and started picking on the gourami and angelfish.

Nice pics!

BTW, Vitamins in liquid form are water soluble, and do not absorb into wet flakes effeciently. The fish are probably only ingesting about 2-3% of the vitamins, unless you are dosing the water itself strongly. Pelletized food, ingested like pills, is the most effecient way to pass nutrition. Hikari micro-wafers are great for small fish!

OH I see - anyways nice fish = ) wish to see them now at the size you mentioned,

ps. it's true it's very hard to mix the "fat" vit d3 in water, I should've added to what I wrote that I also put vit d3 to the grounded beef heart
