feed less
feed slower
vacuum your gravel (which you need to do anyway)
:iagree:

Or get some bottom feeders. I have sand on the bottom of my tank for my ray. I feed blood worms, they may be all over the tank but get the ray to look around for it so he ends up being mroe active in the day allways lookling for food... or playing with the filter.

There's a few things you could try.

You could feed live blackworms instead of frozen bloodworms. The blackworms won't mess up your water quality because if they go uneaten, they will just live under your gravel until they're eventually eaten or you siphon them on your next wc. They usually stick their heads out of the sand in my tank and a clown loach will snap them up really quick.

Like others have said you should change to sand. Whatever type of food you give your fish will get stuck between the pieces of gravel and start decaying but everything stays on top with sand. If you have a powerhead thats even better so the food all stays on top and eventually gets blown into the filters.

Also you could try to target feed certain fish. I have bichirs and I thaw out the bw in a cup and then use a turkey baster to shoot food right near them. It makes it easier to find and makes less mess too.

well i usually stop the filters during feeding for half an our, now my fishes have learnt that filter stop = food time and are very eagerly waiting fro the food at the surface. dropping a cube of frozen blood-worms usually starts a nice lil football match (foot ball fish ???, i am going nuts!!).

cheers!

My fish hand feed so what I do is hammer off a chunk of frozen bloodworms and hold it in my hand and they eat everything before it even thaws out so nothing goes into my gravel

Go to pool filter sand. Nothing will ever go to waste and if you think it's just the bloodworms that sift through the gravel, think again. Just imagine all the feces that gets stuck in the gravel until it breaks down and dissolves. Go to sand and you will never look back 😃
