how much do you think I could sell them for? granted different areas will sell items at a different price, but how much would you price them for?

I would sell 150w MH used pendants for $100 if I could find someone interested in the area.

I think I may have to post them on Craigslist then :D thx for the advice

In my opinion that would be a great light if you have a chiller and everything. If it fits properly over the top use it. If you are concerned about the sudden change to intense light, stretch nylon(pantyhose) over the top of the tank to cut the intensity for a period of time to cut the shock. a few layers worth isnt to expensive, and you can remove them over time to ease the light up. I wouldn't do this if you have an open toped tank as the moisture will wick bad. a clip fan blowing over the nylons will keep them relitively dry and opaque. I would be suprised if more light caused any problems. The sun is much brighter than any number lightbulbs

This is true, but its about comparing PAR levels in the ocean to PAR levels in your tank.

The ocean is deeper and dirtier than your tank, and the sun is farther away.

yes but on average(and this would average higher in tropical regions) over 1 kilowatt of light reaches the surface over 1 m^2, that is more than most get out of their hood. Yes there are other factors, and I'm sure you can have to much light, but from what I have seen here (and I may have missed the wattage of the fixture) that fixture isn't going to fall into that category. I'm no expert but I would just use it instead of trying to sell it to buy another lamp. But thats just my 2 cents

Its probably usable on a 29g, but you are going to melt a lot of corals. I wouldnt expect anything growing in the tank now to survive, and I would plan on this tank being heavy sps.

thanks for all the help guys!!!! i think that I might just try and sell them. the extra money could be spent better elsewhere i guess. Im going to post them for 150 on craigslist and see if anyone hits :)
