The Masked Shadow The Masked Shadow , 3 yrs later haha… never saw ur msg lol… someone else just kicked this dead horse tho 😂

Blast from from the past right here… I guess its time for an official “ending” to this story. Still have the metal frame. Its complete… maybe one day it sees the light of day, maybe not lol… As most of u already know, the fish i was building this for was confiscated by my state. Really haven’t had any desire to continue forward without a purpose for it. I’ve lost most interest in the hobby in general after that experience. Tanks and stocks have been dwindling down since 2018. I’ll always have a tank around, just not like i used too with a house full of water.

Positive ending for the story… I turned the space for this tank into a lure making shop. I hand carve, mold, and produce original pike and musky baits that have banked fish across the U.S…I don’t regret what happened one bit. My “Run” with keeping monster fish for yrs was a good one and fun while it lasted. I grew one of the largest catfish on this forum… Still love big game fish… i just spend my time chasing them on rivers rather than keeping them at home… Still a goal of mine to bank a fish larger than ive grown at 52” haha… hopefully one day.

Finally… heres some pics of the 3k build area and some of my recent work… i never did remove the insulation from the wall or take up the floor for the tank haha… turned into a nice little work space for me tho. Some times life pulls the rug out from ya… gotta get up and roll with it…

Woah, one of the few threads I've still got a subscription for. Shame the tank was never finished, it was shaping up to be pretty epic and I love the idea of a massive steel framed tank. But its understandable and its great you've found something you're passionate about to fill that space.

Agreed, shame to not see it through esp. since its complete and just collecting dust in storage. Im sure one day i’ll get the “itch” again and fire it up for “old times” lol… still have 1,800+ gal running now, but i am getting to the point where just 1 tank would b nice and better on utilities.

For sure. I've gone from a 2000L tank in my basement to a 400L tank in my livingroom and I couldn't be happier. I actually get to see my fish on a regular basis now!
