maybe you have a totally different idea of what were talking about because they are no more cramped then a real tank stand just by simply removing the additional layers/heightening the shelves above the tank.
actually decor is just displacing water most of the time so it doesn't add that much more weight than it would have already had.
what was your bad experience with them?? maybe yours wasn't made of solid metal or it was an isolated case? even tank stands can bend/break/ topple with poor handling.
