Hey yu guys =] Ive search around for info about these fellas and I know they are somewhat on the aggressive side for being a kenyi cichlid...one thing though that sets me off...i have 2 males im guessing since they are both orange/yellow with a faded bars along their body...but then i have 2 more of these guys that are blueish and one whats faded yellow with blue on it....

1st Q. Do yu think I have 2 or 3 males? and a female?
2nd Q. What are they really able to reach in size matter?
3rd Q. Is 55 a "Ok" size tank for them? Maybe not longterm...but for the most of the time?
4th Q. If so how long would they be able to stay into the 55gal?

Btw pics cant be done "atm" due to me not having mines anymore till i get to barrow or buy myself a new one. Thanks.

Multiple males in one tank is trouble. Now without females, all blue ones, you will have less trouble. If you decided to have any females with that many males and one female, she will be harassed and the males will kill each other until they are happy with the balance of male to female.

oh ok. Well then i guess the best bet is to get the other male out and set off and look for more females correct? But due to color differences...I have to get the blue ones right? not the orangy yellow males? Thanks

right blue... make sure they are bigger blue.

ok. Well would they all be alright in like a 120-180 gall. in the future? Coz right now they are in a 55gall. and their only like 3".

btw just wondering but is their a site or place i can see a pic of a adult specimen or of a member here that has a huge specimen(s)? Im curious of what they look like at full adult size since all I see are younger juveniles

I DO... I will find some pics for you... I also have about 30 2-3 inchers available if your interested in some...

also Mike is right about the males killing each other off!! when I first started out I bought 5 kenyi at an inch and unfortunately ended up with 3 males 2 were bigger than the other and exactly the same size well when they started to reach their sexually maturity and breeding age the 2 that were the same size fought and both ended up dead, the 3rd which was alwasy subdominant and mellow ended up being the male stud and had the 2 females to himself : ) here he is

heres a female she is very blue but the other one (I dont have a pic but will take one tomorrow to show you) is more light purple and more yellow almost thought it was turning male but just changed shade a bit once she reached maturity
