metronidazole ray safe?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Their main food has been beef heart + garlic +some other stuff. The discus showing the worst symptoms are the smallest, and I guess the weakest. My bigger discus are not showing any symptoms at all. Can stingrays pick up hexamita form the discus does anyone know? Its an internal protozoa . They aren't showing any signs at all, but I would like to know anyways.

move the discuss to a Q tank.... treat them... monitor the rays and others for problems... no problems no need to treat...

Thank you :) I believe they are safe as well but will be keeping a very close eye on my rays today while I treat them. I've noticed sometimes when things happen to go wrong with medications it also happens to be that the owner medicated before bed, then woke up to dead pets. I think medicating in the morning so I can monitor them all day is much safer (although any medication always has its risk's just like with humans).
Thanks everyone for their help. Hopefully my little discus' will pull through

If the fish is too far gone, nothing will help. The meds only solve a problem, the rest is up to the fish
I have my doubts about one of my discus.. but im 95% sure some of my larger discus have parasites as well, it just hasn't effected them AS bad. so even if I lose the one, at least I'll save the rest before they get to the same point.
