Cool! Very natural looking. How did you make the background/back rock wall? Now all you need is the fish!
Thankyou, the background was brought from the lfs, i couldn't tell you who they were made by. Sorry.:)

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the wood layout. I'd try to make it more visually appealing composition wise and try to work in the rule of threes to help move the eye.
Thanks for the advice Takashi, i'll remember that rule of thumb if i have a dabble at a planted tank.

Its a biotope, not a Takashi Amano planted nature aquarium. The wood is arranged hopefully for the benifit of the fish, not for me mate.:)

Thanks for the comments guys. The fish i'm hopefully going to stock are either Thorichthys sp or Herichthys, ideally i would just like to keep a breeding pair rather than a community in this tank.

try some anubis plants in there for some big ole leaves :D
Thanks, but anubis are african plants, so it wouldn't fit in with the biotope theme.:)

I have found some of the most common plants in CA streams and lakes are lillies ludwiga and mexican oak. But i didn't really want to add any plants if i'm being honest. Cheers.

Looks much bigger becuase of the aquascaping. I think one pair of most of the herichthys would work well. Might need to some distraction fish to keep the male off the female a little. There seems to be a lot of different herichthys available right now. Do you have any certain ones in mind?

I really like and have
Escondido pair
Bartoni
Blue labridens

Don't have but really like
Yellow labridens
sp turquoise

Lots of colors to choose from with these guys.

The Hericththys i love atm, is H. deppi. Not a particularly colourful fish, but i love the shape and orange facial markings on them. We have quite a few available over in the UK and a few of our members have spawned them. So plenty supply.

Nice collection you have. We have both Yellow labridens and turquoise available here, turquoise has been spawned too.;)

I was going to add a shoal of swordtails as dithers, they work very well in my other tanks.

very well done, get some fish in there and throw some pics up.

You really should throw up a DIY of how you put this thing together, deffinetly would be a sticky.
