MFK History

so where's neo? i'd like to hear how this got started from him. i've been lurking around on here for a while, and have also wandered what brought this on.
 
the jist of it is that there was once one forum that split off into two, in which mfk is one of them, and the more successful. I still venture between the two, the "other" site is more geared towards the elite.

I was a young one when the split happened, and I still am, but don't quite understand the hard feelings. It seems like this site and the "other" site could benefit from each other.

I hope I don't get simultaneously banned for talking about the past
 
Nah, you won't get banned for talking about the past. Past is past. We just have to move on.
 
here is the short version...

MonsterFishKeepers.com was suppose to be a bookstore back in summer of 2004... then toward around end 2004.. There was the great Predatoryfish.net internal conflict.. As a member during that time i was fed up with the drama.. so i came up with the notion of turning my bookstore idea into a forum idea.. and rest is history... MFK will turn 5 next year...

i used to sell alot of books before mfk... but not anymore.... i dont have time for it... i think the other site is gone... you get blank screen...
 
sorry that I stirred the bucket, was kind of out of it, and just never understood the drama. For what it's worth Neo, you've done a damn fine job

Drama can be good and bad... The good is it creates a competing environment that drive us do better with innovating ideas. The bad is the flaming, taunting ect.... so around December 2006 the MFK staff decided to close/delete any "forum war" materials on the spot... that was the end of it...

It the MFK Staff... that keep this place in order... cant thank them enough...
