I've been feeding these buggers superworms gutloaded w/hikari pellets. Also the SW are fed a variety of foods to help fatten the jars.![]()
wizzin;851171; said:have you tried breeding the SW yet? I can't get the buggers to turn into beetles! They're healthy. I tried separating them into individual containers, but they're still in the worm state. Of course, they're dirt cheap, so breeding may be more trouble than it's worth.
BTW> Found this guy online and ordered from him several times! Excellent service and shipping. Prices good too.

I just put them in about a week ago after they mutated. Waiting to see some eggs.![]()
Also..I'll post some pics later..just got my shipment of some "goodies" today. One of the goodies are 750 SW.![]()
I'm going to separate another 36 that are of sufficient size and have them go dormant to mutate.
BTW what are you using to store the SW to mutate? Me, I use those plastic utility boxes that have partitions in them. Each box holds 18 SW in its own "condo room"I then store them into my dresser drawer that is room temp of course and no light for about 3 weeks or so and voila! BEETLES!
wizzin;851206; said:I think the light is what's keeping mine in worm form. I keep them in those stackable rubbermade drawer thingys. They're opaque plastic, but I think they let some light in. I didn't know they needed 100% dark to shape shift into beetlesWhere are you buying yours? Premium crickets sells 1000 SW for $22. Hella deal IMO. At that price, it's not worth my frustration to try to breed them myself. I think that's the point though.
