MFK schwag

I bought a plain black lanyard and ironed on a "monsterfishkeepers" logo on it. Looks cool, but wear and tear is getting the best of it.
 
I was surprised at the reaction to this question. Some guy from Saudi Arabia asked about making a decal to put on his truck and the reaction was downright hostile!

I thought people were overreacting a bit, this thread seems more correct to me...

By the way, I would love to buy some "Officially Licensed" MFK stuff!
 
are these shirts going to be sold for profit or just to maintain the site?

Nothing in this thread grants permission for image/logo usage if that's why you're thinking this thread is more correct. Yes MFK stuff is coming I always tell people that to try and deter ones own thoughts of printing stuff not because I control it but because legally/morally that's what one should do.

If someone wanted to use my own business logo/image(yes I have one) representing it in whatever form they like then I wouldn't be too happy. Only one person can grant permission IMO, but there are laws with TM's, and issues where this has come up before and the answer I assume would be the same. So I try to reccomend people don't do it/wait for the merchandise or if you're persistant pm the admin to get it straight from the horse's mouth.

Why I give the answer "don't do it":
A. Because I know some people don't mess around with pressing charges for TM infringment. The admin of this site didn't play around with someone thinking about buying expensive fish books and copying every last page to share on this site to get out of everyone buying said books. I can't imagine he'd be less stringent with his logo/name.
B. Because I think the last thing the admin needs is 900 questions "Can I use your logo to make my own stuff" a day on top of the work this site is on a daily basis/and a normal paying gig.
C. Because most of the people that ask haven't participated that much in this site. There is no rule for how much you need to participate but obviously if you're more well known and you beg and plead it will go further than being new and saying "give it to me or I'll make my own".
D. Because it seems alot of people like to question something being TM'd, or just have a hard time taking the word "no" or having any form of patience.

I never try to be rude. I have a feeling at least one of the answers you thought were hostile were mine. I'm very direct esp. when I think someone got an answer yet chooses to plan something disrespectful or thinks because "you'll never know" that it's ok. Like Microsoft is ok with that logic. But I do love this site and all of the people on it.

MFK stuff is coming. I personally can't wait.

Any news on this? I am very interested, but....

a tank sticker isnt good enough, I want a 8'x2' Monsterfishkeepers.com tank background... :headbang2

Can that be done? if not I guess a tank sticker will suffice.
