North Dakota minimum keeper size is 24" for northerns and 36" for muskies, I like their livers with sunfish eggs fried in bacon grease for breakfast. Apparently european strains of pike average smaller than US ones, a 24" one was considered large in Germany.

I caught a Pike once in northen Wisconsin in the small reservation of Lac Du Flambeau it was about 30". Also saw a 50"

Biggest i ever kept was only 12" after one year from being captuered at less than 3".
Current length record is around 56" and wieght record of 42 and a quarter pounds.

You need big tanks. To max them out I would try giving them a seasonal temperature change and really well oxygenated water. I was reading a report on them in South Dakota, they grow better if they recieve a couple mounths of cold water conditions followed by warmer water temps., it triggers aggresive feeding and growth, the ones in the study were being grown in indoor concrete ponds.

, you guys are really deviating from dan's thread about native fish in the UNITED KINGDOM. Good stuff you posted up though. Wouldn't mind seeing those guys at 63 inches in the UNITED KINGDOM.
