It’s home to a field research facility and dozens of sharks you can actually touch. You’ll learn the official “two-finger touch” technique and how to properly pet them. It’s safe. It’s thrilling. It’s an experience your kids will never forget.
In the nearly 5,000-gallon touch tank, you can meet a Port Jackson shark, whose nose resembles a pig’s snout; the lesser sandshark, whose body has a flat arrowhead shape; and also the pajama catshark, a nocturnal shark that has been known to curl up in a ball on the ocean floor when it is disturbed.
Experience first-hand how it feels to touch these magnificent creatures and you’ll leave with a memorable experience and a new perspective on these commonly misunderstood animals.

Tours are limited. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. You can purchase these experiences at the Newport Aquarium ticket window or by calling (859) 261-7444 anytime prior to the day of your visit. Tickets are not sold by phone on the day of your visit.

Ok ..I just spoke with Newport.

The month of June is open for group tours ,no problems there.

Regular tour is $14.95 PER Adult $9.95 for kids onder 12.
For the extra Behind the scenes tour is extra $10 each.

$150 or 15 people min. .....$10. each person extra.
But to book we must place 25% of Money in advance,

So basically it is an extra $10 and 25% advance non refundable deposit.
(I can not cover this.....I have 6 kids ! )

How did the other groups collect moneys ?
If you wait till you get there to buy your tickets,
you will not get in the behind the scenes tour.
Must be paid in advance for min. of 15 people & 25% of $150.00.
(rest in paid at the time of tour)

Paypal ? (too who ?)
Straight to Newport to an account for MFK tickets ?(don't know if this can be done ?)
The Advance 25% has to be paid a week ahead.

If there is 30 + people wanting to come we will have to split the tour into groups.The lady I spoke to said this was fine.

It cost no extra to pet the sharks they are parts of the regular tour.
We do not feed the shark either, just see where they make the food.
(and all the other behind the scenes stuff....)
