Yes it is.
But what did he learn? he is not allowed to come back and prove that he actually learned. all we can hope is that maybe he did realize it. but we wont know

I guess we do know because he went straight to AC and made a pain of himself there too.

Nobody blamed it all on racism. There was also spam, trolling, etc. You are basically saying that we should let him mature, but that won't happen in a month. If you think that you are more mature than he is, then maybe we should let him back on when he is 16?

Yes there were other things he did.
Ewurm i encourage you to look back on this thread. there are several complaining about racism.

So he starts causing trouble over at AC after he gets banned here. I'm sorry there is no way he will be allowed back any time soon. In a months time he'll have matured then? You want to be held accountable for him?

How do you mean accountable for him?

Guess what.
When I was 14 I was busting my ass in the fields bailing hay.
I was missing school to harvest crop.
I didn't know what the internet was (even though it was commonplace)
When I was told not do do something, I didn't do it. Otherwise I would have faced the consequences. If you feel that parental guidance is lacking, well, I'm sorry. I'm not his baby sitter.

If I made half of the remarks that he made I would have been punished FAR worse than being banned at a fish board.
What happened to be RESPONSIBLE for your own actions?! I'm tired of hearing the "He's only 14" BS. I had more work and labor laid in my lap then than I do now, and that's what got me where I am. If anything we may have taught him that he can NOT get everything that he wants, and that he is NOT the center of the universe. When I got into my pre-pubescent moments where I thought was invincible I got shot down and had to go back to work. Work..........that's something that a lot of people should try.

I don't feel sorry for anyone who has been banned from an online community. It's a privilege not a luxury.

On top of that, it's not that difficult to comply with the rules that are clearly spelled out. Perhaps now he'll have more time to focus on reading comprehension.

He means that since you stand up for him, do you want to go down with him if he screws up?

EDIT: nevermind..same as here..

There is abosluteley no comparison between those times you mention , Rallysman, with the current times. Sadly. But that is more our fault, than kids fault.

I am against the permanent punishment. Kids do need leniency.

If you apply strictness and punishment, they learn strictness and punishment. If we apply warning and forgiveness, we teach warning and forgiveness.

And the world is being built, increasingly, on punishment. Which will breed more punishment.

I just am against the "permamanent" factor.

Sorry to be back on this, guys...

I guess I am getting older (and I sound like it), but this was only about 10 years ago. Has that much changed in 10 years? Can we (anyone) not lay down the law?
