Yes, you can be great without winning it all....Just not on a great team.;) You could be the G.O.A.T. and not win a playoff game........

See, I disagree with this. I think that you do have to have rings/titles to even be considered as the greatest. If you are arguing that Lebron is better at 22 than J at 22 fine, but thats not how you started the argument. Numbers don't mean anything if you don't get rings. And in the case of Jordan being compared to others of his time like Malone, Barkley, guys who don't have rings, it's not even close because J had 6, and he would have had more.
BTW, remember I'm from Detroit so not only have I seen some Jordan games, I also was raised with the thought that I'm supposed to hate him for the "Jordan rules".

you can be great without a championship, but not the greatest. Look at johann kruyff, soccer player from holland who narrowly lost the 1974 world cup. IMO, 2nd greatest player ever in terms of skill. Perhaps as good as Pele. Same with platini. Except Pele brought home the gold...3 times

We could go on all day....How many titles did Pistol Pete win? Or Clyde Frazier? Do not go and look it up, just know they are great, all titles aside...If you are the #1 overall pick, and go to a BAD team, and stay loyal, there is no guarantee that the upper management will surround you with quality pieces....Also that has absolutely NO baring on who is/was the greatest. Team accomplishments, although they can prove individual greatness, simply do not matter when it comes to individual greatness.

So according to you guys, Steve Kerr is better than LeBron James based on titles........    :ROFL:

Look I agree with that Spizz, but I also think that the greats make their teams better, much better. Look at AI, he took the Sixers to the Finals, and that team was junk. Jordan did have Pippen, but when Jordan left, it wasn't like Pippen was racking up the rings either. I agree that there are plenty of GREAT players who haven't won titles, or multiples, but we are talking about THE BEST of all time, not degrees of greatness. Jordan is that guy. And Lebron isn't even close, unless your doing the age comparison thing, then I'll buy it.

Oh I and love Steve Kerr. I'm convinced he could go out there and drop 3's. He's actually the center of a huge inside joke by some people I watch games with. Whenever he was broadcasting, or now around the Sun's, when the game is going, we joke about how he might just show up on the floor and dot somebody.

And he would smoke Lebron.

The Bulls went to the finals after Jordan left.....lmao Again, great TEAM... If you replaced Ray Allen With LeBron, the Celtics would go undefeated...Put LeBron on the old school bulls, great team...Put Jordan on the Wizards, HORRIBLE team....Put old school Jordan on the new school Cav's, Jordan demands trade...hahahhaa
