Sweet, I want one of those canisters for my 10g.

Thanks Joe! Do it, these filters are too cool. It's a tiny Eheim classic! My wife looked at me like I was nuts :screwy: for dropping $100 on a filter for a 10 gallon but this tank deserves the best so meh..

Thanks! Stay tuned. :)

Anyone want to lend me a hand finding out what the foam material is made of while I am working on the tank? I have not researched if it is fish safe yet or not. It's called Rapidflow and made by Owens Corning. Thanks guys.

Great looking tank.

From what I found from Owens Corning, their "rapidflow" is safe enough that OSHA doesn't require MSDS sheets. Therefor my vote is SAFE.

I use DAP 00688 Silicone Aquarium Sealant which requires an MSDS [link] sheet and is deemed safe for aquariums.

I AM NOT AN EXPERT! but good luck.

Sorry to hear that, make it a positive thing and put some effort and thought into your 360g. That's what he would want too ;) GL man! PM me a link to your build!

"Hotel California" for the next few days is going to be a styro shipping tub until everything cures and is good to go. Powerhead/sponge combo is my friend.

I used plastic "Gutter Guard" to keep the BN from getting back there. How he makes it over this thing (touches the lid BTW) I will never know..

The plants have rooted everywhere. They even grew into the HOB filter, I had to cut them out of the mech pads. There are starts of new plants everywhere! :nilly:

Cnt wait to see this tank when its finished!! :D

Thanks for following along Luke!

All the plants are gutted! Good lord there was a ton of crap back there :yuck: The new Eheim is going to be 100% mechanical to avoid this in the future.

P1010707.JPG

I had to break off a piece of the BG in order for the HOB to fit on. I kept the piece and am looking forward to adding it back in place.

P1010708.JPG

I am using the HOB to clean up. I have 15 fry in this tank that are really good at hiding so I want the tank crystal clear before I drain it so I don't miss any fry.

P1010712.JPG

AND THIS IS WHY THE FOAM IS GOING TO HAPPEN.. :irked: These guys are gangster at fitting into places..

This is the last closeup on the plant chamber. I am pulling this piece out and drilling holes in it to maximize the new canister.

God I love small tanks. There is no way I could do this in my 300 gallon. I used a staright razor to cut off the front wall of the chamber. Both sides freed up pretty easy. I was trying not to break the glass more than save the BG.

P1010727.JPG

This is the base of the tank. I am going to leave the back wall alone except for adding the piece I removed and foaming the bottom panel to direct flow and keep the pleco from diggin under it.

P1010728.JPG

I filled it back up and am going to let the new Eheim 2211 run on it for a while until it clears. Once I have all the fry accounted for I will empty it and start foaming. Maybe 5pm? It shouldn't be too long.

^^^ that's where I left off right now. I am going to clean up the panel I cut off, scrape off the silicone from the glass and let the Eheim do it's thing. Tons of flow from this little filter BTW. While everything is clearing up has anyone thought about my question on the first page?
