Just thought I'd share a few. Anyone hoping to see dolphins and other feeder mammals need not keep looking.... you won't find any.
I will say I do have a soft spot for manatees after working with a pair of South American girls for so long, though.
Shark Channel:
Shark Channel sandfilters:
Jewel tanks that surround one of the dolphin pools featured marine life from the South FL area:
Main reef display was an open system (flow through) and all natural light:
Sea Turtles were all rehab animals. They do a lot of rehab work with endangered marine rescue animals. They have a huge area outdoors with great light and lots of great habitat.
Ok ok, mammals. Again, all are rehab animals. For any FL members, you probably heard about the male they just rescued last week with the skull fracture due to a boat prop. He's doing fine so far.
This calf is a newer rescue and being watched carefully. Lots of bottle feeding.
Cal Sealion show area (this is as close as I got)
Saltwater croc area is amazing! Great terrain area, lots of various water depths.
Anyone who knows me well or follows threads I make will see a trend.
Sharks. Crocs. FW Amazon. MSQ has some sharks, great crocodilian areas but lacks the Amazon.... but let me tell you, this little after thought of a pool next to the bird area is BEGGING to be a FW ray breeding pool. Good depth, natural light, good viewing, lots of space.... just needs to not be so green
