Miami Seaquarium Pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol its funny to see everyone saying it looks great becuase since we had annual passes we thought this place was actually boring and crummy. I hate to rain on the parade but the miami seaquarium is really not all that. Besides the sharks , dolphins and the small area wher eu can feed tilapia and pacus there not much to see. ITs actually depressing to see the very small tank they have the for the killer whale and they house it with dolphins together in this small tnak, and its the only place i know where the shark moat is going around the kiddie playground :nilly: its a nice place to spend an afternoon or short time but its small and u run out of things to do fast. :)

Onion - I didn't move, but I'll be in the area a lot more now.

Blacktip - Shark Channel is in a rebuild phase. After that last major hurricane a few years ago that more or less wiped the place out, they haven't really restocked it yet. Right now it's a few fish and nurse sharks. Last night the staff looked at a handful of white tips to move in early '09. I'd like to see more diversity added to it. It's a HUGE space and designed well for lots of swimming.

Woofy - I agree that the marine mammal end could use work. But I'm not really one for the whole jump through a hoop mentality anyway. As for fish end of it, I hope it's now on an upward swing. I know they've struggled to keep knowledgable aquarist staff long term, but I think that is finally settling down now.
