ignorance and stupidity ,often confused ,are two totally unrelated conditions..ya can't help being "stupid"(if you are,and this is not saying you are ,or anything close)....ignorance is the"art"of being unaware ,often willfully...politicians love to talk to this group..and no I wan't thinking you were trolling![]()
Ignorance is a lack of knowledge or information. Young folks are mostly ignorant about Mickey Rooney because his work that could be viewed as important, if one views making movies and TV important, took place many decades ago.
Intentional ignorance of important matters is, IMO, an example of stupidity, meaning behavior that shows a lack of intelligence, judgement, or common sense. I think, maybe incorrectly, that this was implied with the "How have you never seen this movie from 1936? You must have been living under a rock to not know who Rooney was," attitude.
