Hiya,i have recently had micro bubbles from my FX5 :irked: i have tryed everything that Hagen asked me to do {and more} ive very little media in the drum, moved the airstone well away etc etc,i have even replaced all the ends on the pipes and o rings with original parts,i swapped the hoses from fluvals ribbed ones to others that are smooth on the inside {same size} cleaned the impeller it made a small differance for an hour or so but its back as bad as it was when it started. It has only been from i set my new tank {135 gallons} up in the last couple of months, when it was in my 33 gallon tank {both freshwater,no sand} it was cristal clear.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

same thing happend to me, all I need is clean up the blue sponge pad inside the filter really good and problem solve for me.

Thanks grimjaw,i done as you sayed and its made a bit of a differance but sadly not enough, getting there though
Cheers !

I would say that you have air being sucked inside...

Has happened to an Eheim of mine

99.99% sure your water level is low in your tank. I know with my Rena, if the tank level gets down by about 1/2", I start getting bubbles.

Good luck!

Do you have the white polishing pads in your FX5?

99% of micro bubble problems are caused by clogged pads. One thing you can do is remove the baskets and run the filter. If the problem persists you can start looking in other directions. If it stops, then the issue might be within the baskets.
