agreed , instinct will kick in micro will eat claris in the wild it will recognise it as food , because the claris size is somewhere near the micros size i would suggest the micro is attacking the claris and then getting stung by the claris and so then leaving it alone , they problem is he will try it again , i would put the claris in the tub to heal then trade it when it has healed. the micro is just doing what comes natural to it , he will only get worse as he grows at 18" and above you will start to see a defanite change in its behavior , this maybe just the start of it .

Well noone wants a Clarias where i live theyr basicly giving them off free in most shops really cool cat tho ive even heard of people breeding them in 720liter aquariums but the way they move it really looks simular to some of the Wobblers / Plastic baits i use when i go out fishing for pike thats why i thauhgt it looked like a injured fish , and i guess u guys are right about it i will try to move him out what ever seems best to do for him.

Right update, he did try to eat it again i woke up a morning and i saw half of the walking cat inside hes mouth BUT he did escape and hes been healing really good and eating good too , im considering selling or giving away my Micro tho , to go for Arowana keeping and tbh the micro is starting to get a bit too big!

^^^ agreed ^^ if you want the micro , dedicate the tank to him. if you like other stuff also as i suspect you do , them get gid of the micro now while he is not too big that no one will want him .

you are lucky he did not choke with the cat in his mouth and them both die . if you really want a snakehead i would of waited it out and got an obscura , you would have far more luck with it and grows a lot smaller .

but as gigas said you must do what YOU really want , that is the only way you will trully be happy with your set-up.

Yup, they're natural enemies.
I've seen them fight in wild once when I walked in a asian ricefield in India.
A Channa Striata jumped up in the surface with a Clarias in it's mouth.
