Microbe Lift Products - Your Opinion

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've been looking at ML for awhile, if it was more widely available here to the point my lazy @%% could go pick it up at a store I would probably try it out. I've been using Prime for years, our water is cr@p sometimes, they shock it randomly, treat it with chlorine and chlorimine randomly, and sediment varies depending on if we get rain or drought. I know Prime works, heck, if I run the tap and it smells like pool water I usually double the treatment and while others using it per directions have had loses at times, I've been ok. I'd like to know if ML can be used if a situation like this -if anyone has tested it already.

entirelypets.com sells almost all of the ML product, not bad on prices and fast cheap shipping. I just wish they had a few more of the products. My tap water is fracked lol I have to put the water in tub first, I don't trust straight from the tap anymore.

Sounds like my water here half the time. I can smell the chlorine in it 90% of the time and it taste like pool water, not quite as bad, so more like diluted pool water but still not the greatest.

I just picked up one of their cycling and water conditioning kits to help start my 200g when it's ready. It's rated for a 20g, so I don't expect it to fully start the tank, but as long as it kicks the cycle into gear I'll be good. my wife will throw a fit if I have 3 tanks set up for a few weeks lol.

Maybe I'm form the dark ages a bit, I will probably give in and order some online by the end of the year, but I just wish I could pick some up here. Grr.

Guys have u noticed alot of popular fish products say for human use??! Look at ur bottle of stress coat: for ornamental fish use only; not to be used on fish intended for human consumption...... wow and thats api!

any fish product can say ANYTHING IT WANTS! Its not fda approved, so RESULTS AND WATER TESTING TO VERIFY EFFECIENCY IS THE ONLY WAY TO JUDGE A PRODUCT!

prime works for me, my params are always perf. Why change?

BTW IF U LET UR WATER SIT FOR 24-36 HOURS IT WILL BE DECHLORINATED NATUARALLY! PAIN IN THE AS* BUT IF U BUY A 40GAL TUB FROM HOME DEPOT AND HAVE A 90GAL TANK THEN BAM GOOD WATER FOR FISHES AND MAYBE 1/8TH THE DOSE OF PRIME FOR GOOD MEASURE!

Special Blend & Nite Out II did a great job at getting my cycled expedited, I'm not very patient. Petco has several things of theirs on clearance, TheraP was $2 and Super Dechlor was about the same.

You have to remember too, for many fish keepers in today's world, chlorine is the not the only concern, now it's something even more problematic chloramines.

The Microbe-Lfit concept is aged water, it's about establishing the right Eco-friendly aquarium, not just conditioning the water. There's a lot of science and love that goes in to their products.

So the ordinary dechlorinator may not take care of everything and even if it does, it's more along the lines of condition the water vs aging it.

Microbe-Lift Super "D" does take care of both chlorine and chloramines, but it does not take care of the ammonia that is tied with the chloramines. They have another one called AquaXtreme that takes care of that. I found a way to take care of the ammonia using the biological filter. When I do water changes, I leave the canister filter running and it clears up the little ammonia from the chloramines pronto. So I just add the ML magic in a tub of fresh squeezed tap water, then use a pump to add it to the tank.
