need a little help here...im kinda new to big fishes but i really enjoy learning more about them so i bought few big fishes n keep them in one pond. my problem is that i have three giants that is kinda territorial (2 micropeltes and one gator gar) ,,will it work if i put them together..coz i just did a week ago..so far none of them shows signs of aggressiveness...but as for long term im afraid one of them will get a bit more territorial than the others and bad things might happen..

lovely set-up nice and spacious but i'd suggest mebbe some potted water plants or stack some rocks up and make places for them 2 hide in... i'm not really worried but the micro more for the other species... micros haf been known 2 be VERY TERRITORIAL and they are definitely not known 2 be mild tempered... i wuz fishing once and it tore my bait catfish in half without even getting hooked...

anyway from wad i know, i mebbe wrong... gars are bottom feeders... so if u haf a few holes for them 2 hide or stay in it should work out fine... cheers on uR pond mate... it's lovely...
 
basing on that video,it will have no problem,just break their vision's point of tangency to be sure,but im sure that micro can harm some of your fish but not that gar.
 
thanks all for the replies..the gar seems to be the big boss of the pond n i can see that its pretty intimidating for the other fish to swim around the gar including the snakeheads..last week i bought 2 small giant snakeheads around 10" and the 2 big giants ate both of them..i saw it but i couldnt do anything..this is why it gets me to think about what's gonna happen to other fish in the long term..but thanks i'll do what you guys suggested..put some water plants..if i were to add more monster fish..what will be your suggestion?

A friend of mine had one red he was over 2 ft and a gator gar just short of 3ft they were fine together but they had grown up in the same tank over the years from 6” but when you put another fish in there the red would smash it to bits. As said before it’s a trial and error thing and it could work out expensive. You need to do it when you have time to keep an eye on them.

hmm...i guess u're talking about the peacock bass??

hmm..my brother just added a new shovelnose yesterday.it's about 19" or so...they didnt do nothing to it,,not even a sign....well i guess if i want to add more big fishes i have to at them at this point...
