Ok thanks, I will have a good think about it but probably won't bother if its that much of a risk, there's just a part of me that thinks their ferocity is mainly hype caused by them being a problem fish in parts of America and bad fish keepers on YouTube ect. I will keep researching until I decide.

freebody do u plan on getting a bigger tank soon cause they will out grow that little tank quick lol take it from me man. as for mixing the reds with other fish I would deff not do it I tried to a cupple times .I tried to add a 22 inch silver aro and my boys slaughtered it lol then I tried a 20 inch rtc again fail .the only other fish I was able to put in with them was a 16 inch comon pleco .other then that I lost a lot of money tring and I just dont think it is worth it .my boys are now around the 30 inch mark and I have a cupple vids on youtube where I feed them a 12- 13 inch bass and they just rip it in half so my recomendation is not to mix them .

ya mine attack anything that get close to them except for the 3 goldfish, they are part of the pack, i have not seen them show any aggression toward them at all, even when the goldfish snatch food out of there mouth lol unbelievable! its the only reason i have not killed those stupid goldfish myself lol I think i have seen your you-tubes videos a few times each, I just love your fish, It was definitely one of the deciding reasons why i got them, I have always loved large fish tanks and large fish since i was a kid so i knew one day ill have a home with a massive tank of my own, but hesitant on species only tank, but after watching yours i was sold, i just grabbed these guys and mixed them with my previouse setup because they are banning them all over, and its getting really hard to find them, so i picked them up now given the opportunity, instead of waiting and perhaps get stuck behind redtape. they were half the size just a couple months ago, they eat so much and are growing so fast, starting to do the color change now which im so excited seeing, Im moving to alberta near the end of the months so they will be in this tank for another 3-4 months if they don't get to big for it, i don't think they will judging by how fast they are growing, when i got them i though maybe 12 months but they are growing so fast im sure i got 3-4 months give or take before i need to have my tank built. I plan to build one the same size as your but using plywood, 8x4x3, but if the house i buy has like a nice spot that will have more length then i might go bigger but i don't think i will. I figured when i got them if worst case come to be, ill just spend 1k on a 220 gallon to buy some time, and turn that into a salt setup when the plywood is done for the snake heads.

@koi9- just watched that vidio on you tube and its definitely an adult and both the micro and the aro look healthy and no fin damage so obviously not much aggression, I hope I can get 1, they are stunning :D
