Mid to top level schooling fish?

Another vote for BA tetras. There are fast and hardy. They will eat live plants though but I doubt that is an issue with your tank.

Dollars or Balas will get way to big for the role you have in mind IMO. Your tank will be getting very full as it is looking at your current stock.

Yeah that's why I've stayed away from Dollars in the past because of their size. I'm looking at my tank and everything is lower to lower mid and the top is just empty space.

My BA Tetras tend to stay at the mid to bottom levels of the tank the majority of the time, so I'm not sure you would be happy with them. Honestly, your best bet would be Giant Danios or Rainbows as they stay primary at the top levels of the tank.

My LFS has some boesemani rainbows for $7.99 so may pick up a few of those. Need to do some researching to see how big of a group would do well together.

Went to look at the rainbows yesterday afternoon and ended up walking out with 7 Colombian Tetras. Might beef that number up to 9 but thus far very happy with them size, color and where they occupy the tank.

I posted too soon.

I'm down to 6 and I have a lucius pike with a full stomach. Didn't think a 4" fish would find a 1.5" fish as food, specially after how much he ate last night in bloodworms and pellets!
