MIDAS CICHLID QUESTION

What would be some good tank mates with a midas in a 60 gallon aquarium?

Nothing? :-( I'm trying to set up my 60 gallon with a couple good size cichlids that would get along, any suggestions? The Midas sparked my curiosity.

that size aquarium is barley a minimum for a full grown midas. even at small sizes thet will pick on other fish unless bigger than them.

there are a lot of options if you are looking to upgrade in the future...

You caught the "Midas Madness" disease too? I would recomend atleast a 75g for a Midas, and thats only for one. But, there is always room for upgrading. They are a great fish and very interactive! Mine was always so bad *ss . Good luck.

IMO you could do a midas in a 4' by 18" foot print.

but no tank mates... they dont allow for it im afraid.

i'd go with a 120 gallon for a barred midas.
you can go with tank mates and theres a variety of options in there.
right now i have living with my barred midas :

-synspilum
-dempsey
-dollars
-pleco
-argenteas

soon to be with a pearsei

and maybe some other stuff.

you can always upgrade, and actually i'd definetly upgrade eventually.
