<<<<<<,the one in my avatar wanted a whole 135 to himself, thats when i said enoughs enough andsold him, i do miss him tho

The problem is the size of the fish and thus far he has always had the tank to himself. Have always gotten better results with the more aggressive cichlids when they grow up/out together. This isn't always the case mind you - just the odds of everyone playing nice when bigger do increase.

So for your fish I would maybe try to introduce a female with a divider and see how it goes. Or can sell your fish and start with a different stock list.

Here's a thought... and I do this with ALL of my SA/CA cichlids..

Take him out of the 135, and put him in a different tank.. Put whatever fish you want in the 135 (size appropriate to the midas), and after a few days, add the midas. The other fish have had time to make their territory, and the midas is less likely to be territorial.

I have my 11" midas with a Jag, Red Terror, RTM, and 3 juvenile barred midas with bichirs. He has definitely calmed down a bunch with this method.

It's not hard to find a midas that size.. at all.

iv tried taht method with my devil/midas in ym avatar but as soon as i put him back in teh main tank, the otehr fish start picking on him and then he ends up fighting back and beating everyone up and i'm at pint a again

LEave him to his own tank then.
