Midas coloration/markings changing?

RD/midas.
Hard to say right now what he'll look more like as he matures. I personally favor the r&w's with more midas looks. I bought a few of them from petsmart a couple years ago. I sold them a while back but have been able to visit them all grown up in their new homes.
This one is now solid white

Now has hardly any orange although I can't recall if there was any good amount left around the mouth.

Still has just spots of orange on the unpaired fins

solid white on the body, just some color left on the fins and around the gills.

You can't really tell how it's gonna end up but cross your fingers if you want it to keep that lipstick. I think it looks cute. I think seeing them change is half the fun though so I wouldn't mind too much. lol

Thank you all for all the pics, compliments and responses. Seems the general concensus is just cross the fingers and hope lol.
His name is Joker (from batman), so kinda hope it stays for that reason as well but I guess he can keep the name for his homicidal and comical tendencies if the lipstick goes :) I'll post more pics of him as he grows. Is there anything you can feed them to help maintain a rich red color? Or is mostly a genetic thing? Currently he gets bits of whatever human grade frozen seafood in the freezer (sans crab since I'm allergic).

Burt :)

Wow, she's really pretty, almost marked like a koi with the white patch and dorsal. How big are their babies now?

it's hard to say. my boy goes through a lot of color morphs still and hes almost five years old.
He's humongous! Doesn't bother that little... green terror (?) he's in there with?

I think your midas has a great possibility of retaining its present white/orange pattern. I've seen many adult midas/red devils with interesting white/orange patterns. btw nice midas Oto

Thanks! :)
