Very much south..
I am not the most suitable to start, having a loveable stable of bulls, but all of questionnable origin....

Only " pure stock" i have is a bunch of Red Isletas.

We have a lot of pix in Mfk, some very well organized in several threads, but focusing, mainly, in Citrinellum and Labiatus...

I, for instance, cannot be sure i can distinguish between a Red Isletas, a Hooga, an Amarillo or a barred Cit..

Nor can i be sure about Xilaoensis and Saliosus ( have seen some and sometimes quite different )

I know there are a lot out there...

Can you guys share the pix so we can do some sort of visual?
:)

lol

out of the Amph family I like all of them except the red devils with long snout + arrow lips as large juvie, and sometimes longer body.

What I really want to know is how/what they do everyday in the wild. Their hunting styles and where each individual strain hang out at or all together. and stuff...

there isn't a national geographic video on them yet is there? I hope there will be one for all cichlids

Yes what they would do in the wild would be nice as well.
It's too bad there are so few videos/documentaries about cichlids. I had seen a Dutch one called "Cichlids of Nicaragua" I believe, where you could see how Zaliosus is an open-water swimmer for example. Would love to see more of those videos.

We need pix!

Give us pix of your Amarillo, amphilophus88! :)

Go for it, Queen!

from your pix, which I thank, I sitill find no discernible distintinctio aspects between hooga, amarillo and red isletas.
Is it that AMarillo is more base yellow? Just that?
