Thought I would share this with you guy's. So sunday doing a routine water change in my midas tank i noticed that he broke his heater. so due to the great economy in cali, i have to wait a bit before i can replace it. so after comeing home from work the next day i noticed that the temp was realy low and affecting my midas. "who is normally a killer glass banger" a easy and beffy 10 incher. the only option is to put him into my 135 gal were im growing out some dovii. now my biggest dovii is like half the size of my midas and not as beefy either. so i was a little worried but decided to try it out. to my surprise i got to see the true power of the DOVII as he owned the much larger midas. but after a short battle for territory the midas now is safe and in good shape in his temporary home. thought i would share that cool story of Dovii power with you guy's.

too bad you didn't get a video, i have a tiny 1" gt that will attack my 5.5" female polleni

Doviis are the ultimate cichlid nothin can beat them soon we will all be scared to go into the water. Its like a remake of Jaws the victims have no chance even if they are bigger.

i would still keep a close eye on them if your midas realizes the situation you could have a very dead dovii on your hands

For sure i've been watchging them closely through out the week and the seem to be doing fine just avoiding each other minding there own buisness.

Not all dovii are like that. Depends on the fish itself. I have a Haitiensis that beat my dovii's butt and a Red devil That is pure evil. As a matter of fact my 9in red tiger motaguense rules over my 11 male dovii. Out of all the fish I have kept, the motag has been the most aggressive. In my opinion female dovii's are more aggressive.

I agree with you I have another male Dovii thats gets wooped all day bye all my female's. Also i have to say that my female Dovii also put in work on my midas. And are so much more territorial than most my other cichlids.

I wouldn't do for long term. I put a 8 inch red devil into my 10 inch flowerhorn tank, the FH started chasing the RD for a few days, then the RD decided to fight back a little, was calm for over 2 months, 1 day came home with the FH's scales shred and dead.
