Midas Cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus)
Aptly named for their reddish to orange coloration with an aggressive demeanor. Should be kept with other similar aggressive fish and in a large tank. There is also pattern and color variance with this fish and yours may have blotches of other colors mixed in.imperialtropicals.com
I've seen you jumping into discussions and asking this a few times now, including bumping this thread that is 4 yrs old. Hopefully this solves the mystery for you. Not all fish of the same species, will have the same aggression levels. It often comes down to individual behaviour. A "true" midas will typically be sold as an Amphilophus citrinellus, a "true" red devil will typically be sold as an Amphilophus labiatus. Those are the correct Latin names. Anything else typically points to the fish being of mixed blood, or what is commonly referred to as a midevil.
