This is my male midas, he lives in a 75 alone with an ac110 and and emp400. Temp is 81. Gets roughly 30% WC every 5 days. Got him at an inch and a half last August. He was a good inch to half inch smaller than all the others in the tank and was the only blue one. I lost the earliest pics but here are some from right after he lost all his red to today. I see a lot of other midas/rd's and they seem to be growing much faster than him. He eats a ton, least twice a day, mostly nls, hikari, krill, etc. Is he "normal" for me having had him since August at an inch and a half? Thanks for looking, any comments appreciated.

Sorry for crappy pics, literally took 100 plus, he just wont ever stop moving I would have to take him out for a legit measurement. Thanks

He seems to be filling out very nicely!

No he is my boy. Just my first midas and like I said some others seem to grow real fast or claim an inch a month and I was more curious as to how his progression matched up to others as he doesnt seem to be that big to me..I am sure that is the issue though, tough when you see him everyday to see growth sometimes. He will be a big guy some day I am sure. Thank you for the comments.

Its more like 1/2" to 1". Just depends at what point the Midas is at his/her development. My F2 Male that has grown an inch on some months and half an inch on others. Currently he is almost a year and at almost 9" and I mean a year. His parents bred in may of last year and I grew him up from an egg. Just be patient and in another year you will have a monster. Midas slow down at around 10", but byt the time is is 2yrs old he should be around 12" or more and thick. GL and enjoy. He has a nice creamsickle pattern.;)

yeah looks like he's doing very well. like anubisscott said, around 8-10" they start to slow down growing length-wise and start putting on bulk. looks like that's the stage where your big boy is at. looks really good :)

he looks great. its amazing to see the change over time in them when you put the photos together. I have one of these for my midas and you dont really notice unless you put the pics together.

he is looking good though.
