I may grab some SDs if I can find some locally that are big enoughSounds about right. I agree that silver dollars make great dithers for any Amphilophus as they are big enough to not die quickly.

Thanks!I think you would get more gunk than good. Just feed lightly for a week or two and let your colony of beneficial bacteria grow in the mean time.
Mine became shy on day too but I’ve added more decor which is helping and I’m going to add a little more. We’ll see if that helps. That’s awesome yours is coming out more, how long have you had it?any updates, J Joshuakahan .
Mine has started to become more bolder and is even hanging out with the fish gang. It now comes more frequently in the open and shows more interest in the variety of foods i feed. Once i am done with my exams, i will add more plants, driftwood, etc to make it feel even more secure.
Oh ok, so he’s just barely getting settled in. I’ve noticed with older fish the process can take much longer compared to juvies. I bought a 20” jardini a few years ago and she took almost two months to fully settle ini bought mine on 11 april, so thats about 1 month 7 days.
Yeah it depends on the personality and intelligence of the fish. MY pacu took about 3 months to completely settle in while my snakehead took a day or two. But since we both have cichlids, i would expect two to three months minimum for these guys to 'completely' settle in. But who knows, they might settle in sooner?!Oh ok, so he’s just barely getting settled in. I’ve noticed with older fish the process can take much longer compared to juvies. I added about 2sqft of frogbit a couple hours ago and that seems to have made mine a little more comfortable, now I’m just gonna have to remove some as it grows lolYeah it depends on the personality and intelligence of the fish.
