Well I've been doing a lot of reading, and it seems now that midas are the same as red devils!? I read on fostersandsmith:

The Red Devil is often referred to as the Midas Cichlid and the Red Devil Cichlid. The Red Devil's main background color is peach to yellow with some specimens having a white underside. The fins are often white or highlighted in white.

What is the deal with this? I always thought they were 2 different fish? I dunno?

There are two seperate species (Amphilophus citrinellus =Midas & Amphilophus labiatus=RD), but in the trade, they have been interbred so much, that they've effectively become one species.

by the books they are 2 different fish but in real life at the lfs there is no difference they are all devil /midas hybreds. evan if u got 1 from a reputiable dealer and they said this is 100% midas or devil i would have to take it with a pinch of salt.lol
