Midas Trying to Spawn w/ Alone

I don't think the turning the lights off trick works with fish like it does birds. I can hear this midas attacking the other fish and crashing into the rocks at 2 am. Birds are dumb...

ithas nothing to do with intelligence, when i say birds im talking about large parrots and they are as smart as a 5 yr old human, lessening the amount of light they get stimulates winter and non-breeding season while longer daylight hours means spring time and time to look for a mate, but like i said probably doesn't work for fish because most of the time their breeding season is triggered by rains not lighting

Agreed. The only other thing would be get her a descent sized male.

Not to be a downer, but i think you should get a male of the same species, not a flowerhorn. Best of luck

How big is the female Midas? I am sure you've probably checked in your area, but I have noted some rather amazing looking Midas at my local Petsmart - big boys too. Very tempting.
