Hahaha. Made me literally "laugh out loud". He's a pure Amp. citrinellus who's parents were wild.

that's a flowerhorn no doubt about it.

Great pic!!!

My RD went through that change as well.
Pure white when I 1st got him.
Black blotches on edge of fins, mouth lip area, & various spots on his body after settling in.
He's now more or less just a nice deep red/orange.
Not as solid red as your guy his under belly & a few white spots on his body are white, & he sort of has a white "mo-hawk".
Basically, what was black turned white, & what was white turned red.
Which is why I thought he was some sort of FH @ 1st.:WHOA:

That is a beautiful Midas and a very good photo.

Thanks, I like him. I'll snap some more photos soon. I just did a water change so his hump will go down but it's getting pretty large.

Its not a Midas

That is a beautiful Midas and a very good photo.

Itsa not a Midas

Its absolutely no way a Mida Cichlid, end of... The jawline and head shape is completely wrong to be a Midas which in reality should have a steep long face with lowdown mouth that is large and wide! Yours has a jaw more akin to a BiFas Quez Hart type fish... I'm shocked you actually believe you really think yours is a Midas... its not! Nice fish though but start thinking of it as something other that a Midas from now on.
