Midas?

I really want a Midas but all of my friends are telling me to finally go african. I like unusual and aggressive fish, but I LOVE personality fish. The ones that recognize and interact with their owners. They say africans can but I have my doubts. Is the midas for me based on my preferences in fish?

If by personality you mean glass banger then yes it's for you. And in my experiences Africans have no personality but that's just me

I like fish that can become real pets like oscars and red tail cats.

My jag bites lol but he does recognize me. Most larger cichlid will bite you given the chance. I really don't think anybody should pet cichlids but the other stuff Midas are good for. Be careful with hand feeding

They want you to go Africans because one, they've never owned A midas. And two because they know once your sick of the africans you'll sell them very cheap lol
