Midas?

Last summer I made a horrible decision. I sold my gorgeous F1 Xiloaensis from Rapps so that I could convert a 75G to Mbuna Cichlids. Needless to say, I got bored with my Africans in like 13 days. As colorful/unique as they are, they don't compare to the intelligence and interactiveness you get with large CA Cichlids (specifically those from the Amphilophus family). Go with a Midas, you won't regret it.

I've never owned a midas but have owned plenty of large, interactive SA/CA cichlids. I've also got a couple of African tanks. One Mbuna tank and one Tropheus tank. I can hand feed and pet my Mbunas all day long, they are a lot of fun. Then again I can also hand feed and pet my biggest Dempsey. Honestly go with what you feel you want to do. Keep the fish that you want, not the fish that your friends want you to keep.

my midevil is pretty awesome. hes mean as hell but he is so smart. DO IT!

Couldnt have said it better myself. Get what you want. If you want to try Africans then do it, if you want to get a Midas than do it :) Don't let your friends pick your fish for you or else you will be sorry. If you get the Midas and end up not liking it you can always sell it and buy some Africans. Keep in mind though, its going to be cheaper to buy one or two Midas than it is 10 or 15 African cichlids lol.

That said I really like my Midas pair, they are a blast to keep.
