I have a semi planted 90g center piece tank that is truly beautiful. Everyone that sees it loves it. The tank annoys the hell out of me. It just missing something. Is there any midsize puffers that are truly freshwater that can do well in a community tank? with fish ranging from giant dianos and rainbowfish to rope fish and two parrotfish?

This is the only species that woldn't eat your fish: http://www.**************.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/C_Asellus/

They did cross my mind. I was kind of hoping for something bigger. I used to see zebra puffers are they the same as the south american? Also are is their teeth growth on the faster side. (honestly what I should of done with the tank was just get a second fahaka. too late now)

A fahaka would outgrow a 90G in the long run anyway. Go with the SAPs, the most common community puffer.

the fahaka comment was more of a joke. I know you can't really tell these things typing. Plus I already have a 14 inch fahaka.

SAPs are absolutely the only FW puffer you can possibly keep with tank mates, without them getting eaten.

It is possible to keep other puffers with tankmates, just not reccommended. For example, DPs can be kept with Otos. ;)

noobish question: what SAP stand for? spotted _______ puffer?
could it go in a 20g comm tank?

any comment on SAP teeth growth rate?
Very fast, even with snails, dentistry may be needed.
